Over a full tank, it's pretty good; it's not worse than using the odometer, which I know is off (but, until I buy or borrow a GPS, I don't know by exactly how much).

My most recent tank was 35L (by the pump) over 585km (by the odometer) for 5.98L/100km or 39.3mpusg. (By the way, you can actually type
35L over 585km in mpg into a Google search box and get the answer.) My total since October is 155.3L over 2526.7km for 6.15L/100km or 38.3mpusg. I suspect that the figure corrected for true distance would be about 1mpusg lower.

That was a relative comparison to indicate the effect of a block heater. Obviously other conditions are never identical between any two trips but those values are reasonably typical.
