What is A12?

Hello, I have 2009 manual fit.
I bought this car as used, and it never came with a manual book.
My car it saying "Service A12", I know it's some sort of oil indication. I change my oil at regular oil change place so I never go to Honda dealer to do it.

What is this indication? Is it just telling me it has no oil??
My friend said I just have to go to Honda autoshop and ask them to disable it.

Please help me understand what it is. Thank you

Thank you

Hello there.
Thank you for your reply and posting manual book.

I'm glad to know what's happening to my car. As I expected, it is an oil change notice.
I've just chenged oil so I think I'll just go down to dealer and they can disable it or something...
It's much cheaper to do it at other places and they are as good... I think?

Thanks very much!

it's not just the oil.

A1 or B1 is replace oil and or filter and check a bunch of stuff.

But the 2 is replace filters. It says air cleaner element and dust and pollen filter, but since it doesn't mention any other air filters, I can only assume it's the air intake filter and the cabin filter.

You can reset the service "light" yourself... it's not "disable."

If you read that link some more, you'd see... info on what exactly A12 means and how to reset the indicator, which by the way is:

Resetting the Engine Oil Life Display

Your dealer will reset the display after completing the required maintenance service. You will see ‘‘OIL LIFE 100%’’ on the information display the next time you turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position.
If maintenance service is done by someone other than your dealer, reset the maintenance minder as follows:
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position.
2. Press the select/reset knob repeatedly until the engine oil life is displayed.
3. Press the select/reset knob for about 10 seconds. The engine oil life and the maintenance item code(s) will blink.
4. Press the select/reset knob for another 5 seconds. The maintenance item code(s) will disappear, and the engine oil life will reset to ‘‘100.’’

Thank yous again Goobers. I'm going to read some more.
I'm going to just take it into local auto shop to check stuff out. Honda dealer is quite far away from where I live and I have to make an appointment which could take sometime anyway. And they charge more for sure... Which sucks for me when I can just do it at local autoshop.

Thank you very much for your help! Much appreciated!
