Cool

My struts arrived a little while ago and they installed pretty easy thanks to the DIY by spider2k.

There was 1 lock washer missing but I used a shaker-less washer that I had and it works just fine. I had 4 extra nuts left over so if someone is short 4 nuts I found them.

Like spider2k said it would be nice if it held the hood open a little more. I don't see any way to move the bottom brackets back any (fuse box is in the way) but it looks like the hood brackets wouldn't be too hard to fabricate or modify by adding an extension piece to make it raise it more.

Either that or find a couple struts that are longer and use the brackets as they are. When the hood is closed the struts are only compressed about 1/2 way and are still just over 2.5" from being fully compressed.

Works fine the way it is and I like it. Maybe one day I'll replace the struts with some longer ones to make it open farther but for now it's just fine.

Thanks Jimmy101
