that car is so nice, i wonder how many we'll actually see driving around on the streets when they finally arrive for sale. i'm a little scared that everyone's moms and dads (referring to high schoolers and college students) will buy them this car around irvine like bmws.

Well most BMWs arent 75k either..This WILL BE a rare car to see on the road..More rare then a G37, and less rare then a Ferrari...I think even living in a exspensive area you wont see many bcause most rich older guys arent going to buy a 75k$ import over a Porsche or a Bimmer...It will be intresting to see what kind of people will be buying these beasts..Most of the "Kids" that these cars appeal to arent even close to being able to afford such a car..i bet 32 year old buisness owners!

At approx price $80 grand plus or minus the usualy new car mark up, probably not as much as you would think. You will get the initial buzz, but it will eventually taper off once people realize they are paying almost 6 figures for a Nissan. Same thing happened the the NSX, eventually people realized they were paying a lot of money for a Honda and sales evaporated. I am actually curious from a business and design perspective how this car will do (sorry im an old fart and my mind thinks this way now :D ) just from a comparison standpoint because I own an NSX. Nothing against the GT-R, I think it looks great, and the specs are awesome. But if you think about it, the NSX design is almost 20 years old. Will the GT-R still turn heads at 20? From personal experience, NSX still does.

$80 grand....the previous generation Skyline GT-R could be had for 40, albeit only in Japan. Is it twice as good? Remains to be seen....

LOL. My business partner just told me we have to do more business so we can add the Skyline to our line of toy cars. Maybe I'll be able to play with one next year. ;)

Rumors are the Supra will come out to battle with the 350Z in the entry level sports car segment. They don't want to come out with a Porsche priced sports car right off the bat. Plus it'd take sales away from their upcoming IS-F car. At least I'm glad more Japanese companies are coming out with sports/sporty cars:)

Yeah the Supra (if it comes out) will be going after the Z. Toyota's big halo car to compete with the GT-R would be the LF-1. But as it stands the price on the LF-1 will be over $100K, so its your call as to take value over style.

Sorry but the description of hideous is taken by the Pontiac Aztek, car company's would have to work hard to top that. :D

Hehe, I've seen the car up close in person twice now. It was sitting at a gas station in Auburn Hills, MI a few months back before I left. Most of the car was covered in black tape though. When me and my buddies tried to get closer and snap pictures, two Japanese guys jumped of an Armada and kept yelling at us to put away our cameras. Pretty funny shit really.

Second time I saw it was in Nissan's R&D facility in Farmington Hills, MI. My dad works there so I can come and go through most of the building. They had it on display, but you weren't allowed to touch the car or pop the hood (all I wanted). I'm sure I still have a few pictures from then.

The car is absolutely sick. I'm a huge Skyline lover. The R34 GT-R is hands down my dream car. When I first saw pictures I was shakey about the looks, but after seeing the final production model in person, my jaw hit the floor. The car is absolutely breathtaking, which is saying alot. Very few cars have ever made me almost shit myself. Can't wait to test drive one. :D

I bet if you drove a 20 year old R32 GTR on the road, it'll turn just as many heads as the NSX :D

Hmmm Id have to disagree. But again this is just me talking and im probably biased since I do own an NSX. But not to knock the R32, the only people that would turn heads would be car people. My head would turn if I saw one and id give it a thumbs up along with an ooooh and ahhh. But the R32 was not sold in the US so a majority of people havent a clue what it is. So if you stuck one next to an NSX, they would most probably look towards the NSX because of its design and looks, regardless if the R32 could smoke the NSX performance wise, they think isnt that an old 240?

Just my 2 cents...

no, you're totally right, the R32 would only turn the heads of people in the know.
