So, took it in the other night as the local Honda rep was in the area. Met him, he reviewed the sides as well as the bubbles in the hood (right from the get-go I had bubbles in the paint on the hood) and told the service manager to do what she had to do to get it done. I should backtrack for a second, I had e-mailed the service manager a day or two before and included the service bulletin as well as a handful of links (including this thread) to others having the problem. I mentioned it briefly again and the Honda rep expressed interest in seeing the bulletin and the links but said again that they'll get it into the shop and have everything fixed up. I was really, really impressed. He was quick, he took ownership of the issue and I had to say very little.
Car goes into the shop next week and we'll see what it looks like afterward. I have to confirm w/ the manager the drop-off tomorrow and I'll verify again that it will be full removal of bumper and hood, repaint (not just touch up) and then reassembly using the spacers included in the bulletin.
We'll see what happens. Kudos to Honda so far...
