Should I buy a New 09 FIt or the vintage model?

I have never owned a Fit and am planning to purchase soon but am in no rush.

2 choices - the new 09 Fit, or a vintage 07/08 Fit?

Seeing that there are so many improvements to the new Fit across the board it seems the 09 is an easy choice. But seeing so many 07/08 owners bashing on the 09 maybe I am missing something?

Appearance wise they are a draw for me, the old model looks more simple, basic, and clean. And the 09 looks very similiar, just more agressive. Kind of like the difference between a Sport and Base model 07/08.

Obviously on appearance and other subjective things I will have to decide on my own. Help me out and let me know the hard fact reasons of why I should buy one over the other.

Can you get a brand-new '08? There are still some around, so don't think I'm nuts for asking. If you want a totally brand-new car, and you can't find an '08, then you will have to get an '09.

I would recommend that you test-drive the '09 and see if you like it. It would be good if you could see an '08 in person and drive it too...maybe try Carmax??

The FitFreaks who don't care for the '09's appearance are just giving our personal opinion - and lots of others love the '09, so it's just another viewpoint. The features that have been added to the new model do not compensate, IMO, for the changed appearance. But others make the trade-off, or they feel lucky to have a good-looking car with alll the new features.

If you are hesitating, you might want to ask yourself why....

wow dude alot of rep points and post on the forum and not have a FIT?!?!???! THIS IS MADNESS! jp I have the 07 model and I love it.

07 Simple, clean, if your gonna mod it well you already have a huge plate to eat off of. I believe they these get better gas milage too by a few miles.

09 model more sharp edge body design. more options for interior. i really cant find a love spot for the 09 but thats because i have an 07 lol

if theres some '08 models available you should def. get on it! hahah cuz i think the 08 looks like i dont really know how to explain it but it looks better. even though i own an 09. and with the 08 theres more mods out right now but maybe in the not so different future it will change. in the end its up to you! whatever you choose it'll be the right decision cuz its still a FIT!

I personally prefer the GD3, but I could be biased since my fiance and I both own one.
You should test drive both and see which suits you better. They are both great cars.

it's been said here before get which ever one suits you best. I prefer the GD3 as well because I think that they look better. But who ever said that if you are hesitating then you may need to ask your self why.

Lol, I thought it was funny when I typed it but didn't say antique! Technically I should add the year(s) with the term vintage, but meant it in the common use without a date in reference to something that is old enough to be in fashion again!

I wouldn't get a 09 Fit. Why? The design is okay to me but the car looks too fat in my opinion. I like quite small cars and the new Fit is kind of huge. I also think the '08 has a cleaner look, therefore my vote goes to it. The '09 seems to be a good car, but it's not my cup of tea.

It seem's like the GE8 is a better all around car but i just prefer the GD3's style and interior too...

You should post this same question in the GE forum if you already haven't. I'm curious to see what they'd say over there

I love my GD3. My aim was to get a small, basic fuel efficient car, and that's what I got when I bought the GD3. The GE seems overly big to me... not to mention, it seems like you lose a lot of privacy with the GE's larger (it seems larger to me!) windows. I'm sure a tint would solve that problem but... ehh, that triangle window in front of the driver/passenger front window looks HUGE on the GE, LOL.

Stevens24 will become famous soon enough
If you are just going to drive it no mods etc the GE is quieter and smoother and probably more enjoyable. For Tuning I still like the GD. Something about the Head/exhaust amnifold being one unit doesn't really do it for me. I do like white being available.
