jdm emblems stolen

jdm emblems stolen

so got my emblems stole, very disappointed . never thought it was going to happen right outside my house. now i don't want to replace it, pretty sure they will come back and steal it again..any suggestions??

ive got 5 emblems stolen off mine, so join the club. latest set has last me a while though, so dont be too scared.

I would suggest adding more 3M tape then it comes with, if you didnt do that originally, but honestly if they want them theyre gunan yank them. And if you super glue it, it'll just do more damage.

BTW, I have a brand new front one sitting around. PM me if you decide to get new ones lol

Get some adhesive backed magnetic tape from one of the local hobby stores (Michael's, Hobby Lobby). Glue it to the back of the badge, and stick another piece to the car. When you leave the car, just pull the badges off and take them with you. You could also put several rare earth magnets behind the panel where the badge is located and glue a very thin piece of steel to the back of the badge (assuming the badge isn't ferrous). Or maybe drill out some holes in the back of the badge and glue rare earth magnets to the inside of the badge, or...

It's a thought, anyway.

I was going to suggest a .40 or .45 solution but you're in California, where it's practically illegal to defend your property.

^^^ those are good ideas. If you want to go all out, have a steel plate deeply engraved with the Fit emblem, clean the rear hatch, weld it on all sides, grind the edges smooth, and repaint the base and emblem colors.

Usually around here going out for a chat with the shotgun in hand once is enough to keep the idiot thieves away.

I was also going to suggest putting a strip of adhesive magnet on the back of the emblem. Get a heavy magnet from a hardware store (I picked some up for about $2 dollars). Take the plastic interior off the hatch, put the magnet there and slap the emblem on the other side.

Dunno how much work that would be. I don't think the adhesive magnet is strong enough to keep the emblem on at high speed.

That sucks, I say get a new emblem and put a camera on the emblem. I have a rear emblem if you want it

Put the new ones on and put a single edge razor blade just up enough to cut. Then the next guy will at least have to leave a little DNA for his trouble.

hmm just out of curiosity, in my school, theres a metal shop across the hall, and im a good friend of the metal-shop teacher, is it possible that he can drill a hole through the back? then screw it in from the inside? through the back of the "emblem-holder"? just wondering

damn, thats lame. But emblems get stolen all the time. Even stock emblems get jacked. I remember in highschool, people used to come to school with Honda emblems hot glued to there jansport backpacks. LOL. does anyone know what im talking about. LOL!
