I am considering a complete shock and spring replacement for my '07 Sport. It will be a street only car, mountain driving, and I need to maintain the current ride height due to needing to drive on gravel roads.
How comfortable is this "racing" setup as they market it on the street? It is my DD but I'd like a bit better handling and plan to upgrade the rotors and pads as well.
Is there some other setup I should consider for my application?
Thanks!

i drove a fellow members with those coil overs, and I can safely say i will never own a set. And I only drove it around the block a couple of times.
I know the k-sport and enduratech are more DD friendly.

Skunk2 has some serious spring rates. You want something around 5-8k. My KSports are decent but my passengers sometimes complain about the harshness. Oh well. I don't mind it lol

Thanks folks. The short stout springs looked to be really stiff. Couple that with the marketing of them as a "full racing" setup I figured they might not work for me.
I may end up doing just rotors and pads. We'll see. The biggest issue for me is braking since down hill in the mountains I generate a lot of heat. At 8k ASL and up the little Fit does not generate a lot of forward thrust, but letting it roll out down hill is another story.
T1R makes replacement shocks that are adjustable. Should improve handling with no loss of ride height (also a concern of mine).
As far as other mods: aftermarket chambered intakes appear to make a noticeable difference in midrange/top end power, as do headers. I have a T1R Response header and can feel better midrange power, especially at part throttle. Still looking for the right intake.
I'm also going with lighter, wider rims with less offset than stock, which will widen the track and should improve acceleration and handling. And I'm upgrading the tires.
Finally, my Beatrush underpanel really makes a difference in front end stability at speed, including being much smoother and more predictable when cooking through offramp sweepers and the like. A plus for you would be a bit more underside protection on those gravel roads. See link in my sig for more information.
^ I agree. The T1R adjustables can be adjusted to your own comfort level. The only thing I would worry about is that I believe that the T1Rs are a shorter shock - I think they're designed to be used on lowered cars. You could contact A&J Racing - they will let you know if they can be used with stock springs.
as a matter of fact, i am taking off a set of the skunk 2's tonight and replacing them with swift/stock set up.

yea t1r's dampers wouldn't be the best for stock springs. Doesn't tokico make "replacement" dampers though? Weren't d2's a decent option for the money also...?

You'll want something with a lower spring rate. The Skunk2 spring rates are pretty high. I'm not sure if you can swap out the springs on those.
Might I suggest TEIN's Super Compact coilover set instead? It's got 60% stiffer spring rate at the front (which is arguably too soft in stock form anyway), but keeps almost-stock rear spring rates - just 6% stiffer. Those got adjustable damping too. I rode in a friend's boosted GD1 with those equipped, and the ride was perfect for daily driving. They're quite an improvement over the TEIN Basic Compacts.
i have pro-c's, they're definitely not comfortable (by my standards) for a daily driver - even on the softest setting. spring rates are really aggressive for our 2300lb Fit: IIRC 8kg fr / 6kg r. if you're buying directly from skunk2 you can order custom spring rates for a few more bucks.
eventually, i will contact progress and see if they'll make me a custom set of coilover springs for less than what skunk2 is charging.
Both the TEIN coilovers (Super Compact and Basic Compact) have spring rates of 4kg/mm F and 5.5kg/mm R. They just differ in their damping - the Super Compacts are 16-way adjustable.
