Aftermarket Mudflaps?

Can anyone suggest good aftermarket mudflaps, particularly for the rear wheel-wells? My one complaint with my Fit (2008 GD BBP Sport) is that it kicks up a lot of water when it rains and I end up with a filthy tailgate, and the rear windshield wiper is working overtime. Its ridiculous.

i doubt mudflaps would help. it has to do with the aerodynamics and vortex of hatchbacks.

Well I said Mud Flaps but I guess "Splash Guards" would be a more appropriate label. I found a set of four made for the Fit for around $70, although it's a bit disconcerting that the site says Honda doesn't make splash guards for the Fit Sport? Does that even make any sense?

Oh now I get it. It's because the Sport has that skirt on the side. Bummer.

So do they make splash guards for the Sport or no? I'm guessing no...

They do not. You can buy some generic ones and try to make them fit somehow. Take pics if you do.

you could just buy sheets of thick rubber and screw them into the wheel wells. but it's not going to make your rear hatch any cleaner, just around your wheel wells.

^^what Kenchan and tofuman said its not the water/dirt from the rear wheels it the design/aerodynamics of our cars. It creates this "vortex" behind the car causing dust to be sucked into the back of the car and rest. That's why after most driving trips you'll have a small collection of dust on the rear wiper

This is the good old station wagon effect. You can always tell the people that live on gravel roads by the red mud on the hatched of their minivans.
