well this is my first car. this is a daily from school, to home. i just want some, more power not going turbo, what if i do bolt ons? exhuast headers intake? the gd3 is a 07? and isnt it the L15? or is that the 09?
No turbo then what is your idea power. Forget the bolt on and try considering a S/C if you do not want turbo.
well my dad doesnt build he just sells imported motors and body parts. i wants something cheap, i dont work and i dont want to buy cheap stuff, either. so ill probably run stock for a while until im ready to do a k20 swap
Yea, hasport sells most everthing and theres like one company who makes an exhaust for k20 gd3's...can't remember who but yea, I know there's atleast one lol.
IF you ant something quick don't get a fit, plain and simple. And liek stated before, boost is the only option if you want a decent bump in hp/tq.
surprised no one said to just look around the site n learn for yourself lol.

Since no one bothered to answer your main question, let me be the first. lol
Currently there are no hybrid engine swaps that will directly swap into the 2001-2008 Honda Fit, and in order to "jimmy" a K-Series engine into the GD chassis you're definitely looking at alot of time, effort, fabrication, and money spent.
You'll most definitely need to have the intake, exhaust, header, mounts, radiator, etc. either customized or fabricated in order for it to fit within the small engine bay, and if memory serves me you'll also need to customize the radiator support in order to house a larger engine, among other areas of the vehicle.
THANK YOU. if you bought a car to swap an engine into...you bought the wrong car my friend.
and guys, if you dont know your k-series', dont commentate. it gets people confused and continues the trend of people who mod hondas who know nothing.
k20a3 is from the 02-05 civic si and base rsx (to 06)
k20z3 is the current si motor, also used in the csx type s
k20a and its variants are usually type r's.

hahaha i would have said it but i am still trying to learn about the swap too and i thought this was going to be a good discussion on it. i didnt know it was going to be a kid that has no idea what he wants
oh haha, my bad yeah im a kid who just wants the car and thinks every motor will fit in it like the older hondas ahahs. well this was a great learning experience, and i havent bought the car yet. myabe stick with the 240 =X
^^ kelso are you still on the idea of having spoon build your fit?
yea. i am just going to buy the engine and sit on it until i feel like my fit needs a new engine. the L15 is holding up pretty well at this point. i wanna get some more miles out of it before i do my engine swap. also, i dont know how i am going to get around the smog nazis in cali with that swap.

240sx or 240z?
either way, get an rb26dett and swap that if you want crazy fast.
cant you swap in a k20z3 from an 09 civic kelso to pass the smog requirements?
its such a pain in the ass to get an engine bar'd here in cali. the requirements are:
-engine has to be same year, or newer than the model year
-has to come from the same country of the intended market of the car
-has to pass smog and visual inspection
-and an assload of paperwork has to be done.
if i got a spoon engine, they would meet none of these requirements.
I thought I was the only one who wondered why someone with a first car and no job was looking immediately to spend half again what the used 07 car costs to do an engine swap?
Maybe it's just me at 39 years old, and getting to be a grumpy old man, but when did kids stop saving from a part time job, buy a POS car and then make small improvements every paycheck?
At 16 I had been working for 3 years with a paper route and working on a farm on weekends. My first car was a 1978 Malibu with over 100,000 miles and I loved it. I ran it over 220K miles before I was T-boned by a caddy who blew a stop sign. By this time I could "Upgrade" to a 1976 nova that I built the hell out of before selling it for another project and so on until I had a stable job and could afford my 1997 Jetta brand spanking new.
Is it just me, or do you find your self in your mid to late thirties (or older) saying "Kids these days! When I was a kid I had to ..."

but yea, it woulda been nice to actually discuss the k swap a tad lol. it isn't a horrendous swap anymore considering hasport provides most everything you need and hondata does the ecu, harness, reflash n everything needed there lol. Anyone remember tough who makes the exhuast for k's? ...is it j's...hrmmm
