battery life?

I'm vigilant about checking the health of the engine and just noticed the battery indicator showed "needs charge". I haven't left lights on or anything like that. This is a 2008 Fit?

Is this normal?

your battery is charged probably about 70%. might want to do a cold crank test after your 'full charge' and see how many cca you get. that will pretty much tell you how much life you got left on the battery.

battery life depends on many things including how you drive your car... many short trips will kill your battery sooner... or running stereo or accessory without a wall charger/manager hooked up, etc.

I am using the same battery that came with my car in July 2006 with no problems as of yet.I periodically hook it up to a maintenance charger like I would on a motorcycle or scooter with constantly changing voltage and amperage rates to separate the sulphate accumulation on the plates.

report back

after the recharge the indicator has remained blue. I suspect as one poster had speculated, that the charge went below 70%.

btw, the Schummacher automatic charger with microprocessor control is very nice.
