Check your front bumper/quarter panel area for paint chipping. Warranty repair OK.

A couple of months ago I was detailing my front tires when I noticed a 1/4" paint chip in the area where the front bumper connects with the front quarter panel. With some rust already starting to take hold, I checked the other side and sure enough the same damage. I figure it is a vibration issue, heading over to the local Honda dealer I spot four used 08 Fits, looking closer I see three of the four have the exact same paint issues.

To the dealer warranty expert I go and he nods his head, says it is no surprise (vibration issues) and sets about taking a dozen photos of my 08 Fit. These photos are submitted to Honda Canada and he says give it a month and he will hear back from Honda and call me.

A week ago I get an email, he has set up a body shop to do the repair and a loaner car (free). I found out they remove the entire front bumper, add some sort of seal between the rubbing area and paint the unit off the vehicle. I have a few chips in the front end area, so no big deal.

Everyone needs to look on their Fit to check for this paint issue and make a warranty claim if need be.

See pic I took with my iPhone:

Looks like I am the last to know, thanks for the link, most of us are in this boat.

Honda really needs to do a recall, makes me rethink my next purchase from Honda.
