Removing Mugen Visors (or any other stickies visor)

So as most of you already know i'm parting out and selling the fit. It's a shame to see parts that I know some of you will like get traded in for some grandma to drive around with and not understand what she has.

I have been working on removing everything and selling it for good prices. You can find my part out thread in the want to buy section.

My Mugen Visors have been on for 4 years. Perfect condition but never moved. What are the chances I can use some heat pull these things off and clean the sticky shit off without damaging the plastic coating on the door?

Looking for anyone who has removed visors from the car, how they did it and if it left a lot of residue, and how long they were on the car.

Thanks a lot!

Run floss or fishing line between the visor and car. Use mild grade Goof off to get residue off.

It's probably discolored but there are plastic restore products out there.

i thought it would be a big deal too removing the visors but I recently had some nice people try to break into my fit passenger side ripping my replica mugens off so it was snapped in half leaving the 3m on there.... fairly simple to remove even easier on a hot day if you leave it out in the sun.

I still did not do this yet and was really scared to still. Think you just proved to me it can be done. Thanks! Sorry about the fit. Pick up some real mugens to replace them.

Is it possible to buy new 3M tape to restick the visors on there? I ask because I really want to do carbon fiber wrap on my pillars and would have to remove my visors and would want to replace them afterwards.

Thanks for your help.

I've already used 3m mounting (double stick) tape but I'm guessing the tape that comes with visors is special, industrial strength tape.

Yes 3M is perfect. My visors were on for so long removing them was not happening and was pulling off the rubber around the window. Just left them on.

use a hair dryer and some fishing line. Heat it up evenly and slowly. When I removed my Mugen visors I took clips out first then pulled upward towards the sky. Came off rather easily

yea.... well I used a heat gun, got it nice and warm. Then used fishing line and after it was off a bit I could tell the fishing line had already done some damage to the plastic on the door.

My advice would be to make sure with the fishing line you keep pressure on the window vent and not on the car. (I did the opposite)

I left them on and traded the car in oh-well. Thanks for the help though guys, this thread should help someone in the future with the same question.
