Thumbs down New battery and EVAP monitor

I changed my battery last week and decided to know how long it will take for “monitor readiness to be set-up
It took about 8 miles of city drive to set up all monitors except the EVAP.
As of today 3 days after battery change the EVAP monitor is still NOT ready (good I passed smog 4 months ago.
According to the literature, it takes up to few WEEKS of normal driving for stock car to set the EVAP ready. So NEVER ever disconnect the battery before doing the smog!
(Of course, a Honda dealer can use a programing device to set the readiness for EVAP, but it will cost around $100)
Other method is to use 9V battery plugged into power outlet socket to provide back-up power for computer but there is no guarantee it will work.
40 years ago many cars could be repaired by mechanics
20 years ago car repairing required mechanical and electrical system repair skills and BS degree in related field
Now you need to be a computer programmer in addition to above, with MA in business psychology to obtain necessary devices at minimum cost!
Time to remember 1.5 1966 FIAT-124 with Weber carb and point – type ignition system J

I haven't looked up the Fit but but on most vehicles the Evap vent monitor takes 3 complete driving cycles from temperatures starting below approximately 75 degrees.

Basically that is three driving cycles starting with a cooling off period of over night.

Let's wait and see. I pretty much familiar with some generic driving cycle procedures but not sure if anything is different specifically for Fit.

Ah, Julius, I loved my '73 124! Very pretty and very light.

I'll be following your EVAP discussion.

Update: EVAP monitor is ready after 1 week, 150 mi of regular driving AND refuel!
I could speculate that the ECU gained the fuel level to in-tank pressure relationship data during spending the first tank of gas and then validated this information after second refuel.
