GD vs GE cargo space

GD vs GE cargo space
I was surprised to see that the GD only has 41 cuft of cargo space. This is substantially less than the 57 cuft that the GE has. The GD seems to be quite spacious inside and does not look to be that much smaller than the GE. Anyone know where the increase in space of the GE is- Is it the length, height, or width?

This has been gone through on here before, and the determination was that there is not really any REAL additional space on the GE over the GD.
Cargo numbers are easily inflated, and the standards for measurement are generally unclear. If you poke around the internet there's lots of discussion on this. It's generally acceptable to measure from the floor to the windows when measuring, but published numbers don't always match the reality of the situation, and there's no clear guidelines (that are followed anyway).

Yes, but if these measurements are posted in the media and various publications, then they most likely have been approved by Honda as well. So why would they not use the same methodology in coming up with the numbers? This is really misleading to the public. I haven't seen anything definitive on what the 'true' cargo volume of the GD is compared to the 57 cuft. of the GE based on an apples to apples comparison. We all know that the GE vs GK is 57 vs 52. But what about the GD?

All you really have to do is look at the true interior dimensions (LWH) of both models to see that they're pretty close, definitely not as far apart as the published dimensions suggest.
If I wanted owners of an older model that enjoyed the versatility to trade up to a newer model on numbers alone, I'd probably publish the same information as long as I wasn't technically "lying" about it
I'll see if I can find the old thread later and if I do I'll post it here.
