Engine stuttering at acceleration, engine light going on and off

Hi,

First time on this site. There is a lot of info! I have a 2007 Honda Fit, 85,000 miles. This morning driving on the expressway, there was noticeable stuttering as I accelerated up to 70 mph. Then the check engine light went on and off. I decreased back down and the stuttering reduced but I am worried it is the transmission. I am taking it in tomorrow to a mechanic but before I go in I would like some advice about what I should be looking for. I am a newbie when it comes to mechanical/engine stuff.

Thanks!

Coil packs, for the win!

It's probably coil packs going bad. Search this site and you'll find out all you ever wanted to know about the problem and more.

I had a similar problem without the CEL though. I found the coil packs were fine, searching searching for other problems. Finally came down to charging system. The water in my battery was low. Mine was causing a fuel cut, which felt like a stutter.
