thats what i did first. then i moved onto the exhaust area.

 

Don't do anything to the Fit with the money... rather, why not spend the money to do something WITH the Fit. As in, take a road trip someplace you haven't been before? $600 buys you some lodging and enough gas to get you on your way.

That you are. I used to do some offroading out in the western part of the state, although there was also a pretty crappy area near 234 in Woodbridge, VA that did the trick as well (but you really needed HUGE tires to pull it off).

You might want to hit up western-NC though, it's supposed to be great for the outdoors. Up north, the Delaware Watergap near the NJ/PA border off of I-80 is also a great place to visit as well.

 

Did you budget in Scotchguard for the seats?

Don't forget to bring protection. Not the "hookers in the back of the fit" kind, but the "if someone's gonna die, it isn't going to be me" sort.

You probably won't need it, but every few years you hear about someone having incidents.

 

I dont think it increases mpg at all...that's unless you had a faulty intake to start with...i've heard the stories, and its pretty much b.s. or they had issues with the stock intake to begin with...I dont think the intake will get you any performance increases at all, but you get a significantly better throttle response for the SSI..considering we're packing below 100 hp to the wheels (not base hp, at the wheel), you cant expect this car to be a race car...good luck for whatever decision you make

 

Take it from an old customizer and racer: if $600 is your budget spend it on wheels and tires at DiscountTireDirect. They'll even mount and balance them and ship for free.
We installed 205/45x17 Hankook's on 17x7x44 offset rims and they look good and handle well with occasionally tiny rub. Different antisway bars and lowering springs don't do nearly as much nor look as good.
After you do the tires and wheels then go with shocks, then lowering springs. Play with antisway bars last. Brakes anytime. Hawk makes a good street /track pad that we reshape to fit easily. We can supply for about $50 over the Hawk price.
If you are worried about heavy loads in the rear upsetting the suspension balance Monroe Max Air 791's are a pretty direct fit for $80 per pair at Advance Auto.. Check the 791 tho' cause I'm old and my memory's not as good as it was and I'm not in my office. Should be for a 93 Cavalier if memory serves. At about 25 psi preload it handles our test trackreal well. (if you want to see how we like to cruise VIR go to "Hyundai Sundae at VIR" on you tube). No, its not in a Fit but in an Azera. Before the end of February, we'll test the Fit in full trim. Handling always starts with wheels and tires. Good luck and cheers.

...and you will have some money left over. Oh yeah...and tint lol.

 

For mine I got the Progress RSB and Tanabe GF210's first, for a total of $300. The GF210 doesn't lower much, but gives vastly better handling/body control. Speed bumps are no problem with them. Only drawback is a slightly bouncy highway ride, but I only had my stock springs for about 2 weeks so I don't know if the stocks were as bouncy.

The other $300.. I'd get some better tires, maybe Falken RT-615's. I'd getting new tires with rims for my next mod.
