The reason why I think Honda will go with the new CVT for the USDM Fit is that production capacity of their 5AT units are reaching capacity, especially with the continued
very strong sales of the Civic sedan/coupe here in North America (the current Fit uses a 5AT unit very close to the unit found on the Civic).
The new Fit will be the car that finally replaces my trusty, but starting to age 1998 Honda Civic HX CVT coupe.
