You can install larger tires so the gap is reduced without buying springs. That will raise your FIT off the ground. Look at 205/60x15 or 185/70x15.
Just be sure you maintain the 55 mm offset or close. And yes it will screw up your odometer and speed readings (you'll be going faster and farther than they read).
And boy will it deteriorate your acceleration times. A lot.
