I understand about the $$$, but increasing wheel size does not necessarily mean an increase in the overall size of tire and wheel. 17X7 rims with 205/40/17 are the same size as the 15X7 stock wheel/tire combo. Pick the right offset and you will rub with the 17s in the same way that you would rub with stocks.
