Wow dude, good job! I had this question when I put my PRM intake. What's that thing (thin plastic black box) infront of the filter? Is it the ECU?

Cool. Sucks that it's so close to the battery (not that it matters)

My next mod is going to be a large marine battery for the audio system. Battery goes dead in 10 minutes with my radio on at half volume.

I have a question, how did you connect the 3 inch tube to the filter/coupler? I noticed something at the end of the tube like a clamp or something. Which side goes in first lol.

So if you're planning to get a 2.5" filter instead of 3", here is what you need: an extra maf cover if you want to go back to stock, 2.5" filter, 2.5 to 2" coupler, breather, 3 " pipe, 2.5" to 2.5" coupler with 2 hose claps. Is this correct?

Correct. Except the 3" pipe. You need a 2.5" pipe. The 2.5 inch pipe slides inside of the 2.5" end of the 2.5" to 2" coupler. This will leave some of the pipe exposed out of the couplet you will slide your 2.5" filter over the top of that pipe and clamp it down with whatever clamps are supplied with the filter. Usually screw hose clamps.

^One cut in

you see the pipe that has the extra tip? where does that side go into, like does it go into the filter side or the MAF coupler side?

Gotcha, I loosened and removed that piece on the pipe as I did not need it. It's just a fancy looking coupler that came with the pipe that I did not need. I then cut the pipe in half to reduce the overall length of the assembly.

How much does a new stock air box cost? Looks interesting, and effective, but the reality is, this mod costs a lot more than $50 in the long run unless you find someone who wants to pay a pretty penny for a modified used car. Well, that's assuming you aren't going to keep the car forever.

Explain?
Actually it does cost ~$50. Even in the long run. New stock air box lid cost $18 which has the MAF tube you need. Read the first page.

This is an easily reversible mod. I can put in my stock air box anytime I want to. I have the whole thing sitting in my garage. That's the point of buying another air box lid for $18 and hacking that one up. For those "Just in case" scenarios.

Ah - I see. I didn't see the cost of the airbox lid. Sounds like a good mod!

My Injen SRI is 2.75" filter and I would love to modify it to a 3" filter, is there anyway that I can do that??? Any input would be great!
