my opinion
I think its kinda nice to reward the long standing GD3 owners with Flashpro and it makes me feel good to know it is only on our platform, kinda an elite ego boost. But I m sure not for long. Keep pumping out Fits and evolving them eventually the first gens will be classic and in my mind already are.

If you combine the 09-10 + 11plus votes for our fit we are actually hovering around 2nd and 3rd place right now.
Sprintex has already proven that the piggy back they used on the ge8 sc works across all years so there is reason to believe that it doesn't matter wether the 09-10 or 11+ year wins as it should work across all of them.
Keep getting those votes out!!

The Sprintex interfaces with only specific wires, and those are common across years/trims and even other cars. Even if the wires are different colors/location, so long as it serves the same purpose, just wire it accordingly. Can't do that with an ECU reflash... it's got to be all the same or nothing should be done, lest ye want a malfunction somewhere.

doubt it. if Goobers is right, they will need to produce two versions for USDM pre-MMC (09-11) and MMC(12-14). if they do produce it i bet it will be for the preMMC screwing the other batch....

Most of the time that change is software based. So I doubt they will offer those at seperate times. Its just the difference of VSA, and the logic behind how much power is reduced during "loss of traction"
They had a similar issue with the 06-11 civics, but they now offer just one part number for that whole range.
Im feeling good about this! I cant wait to get some more oomph out of the hamster!

I have a lot to learn about engines before getting there. My knowledge is more oriented towards suspension. lol
#117
so? think like BMW, make the suspension faster then the car. AKA the suspension can actually handle the power and put the power down correctly!

I still have faith that they will come out with the GE8 Flashpro, and I hope it works for my 09 w/Navi (VSA equipped), cause I've been had my $650 ready for them.

What are the expectations with using a Hondata? I looked at this link --> Hondata and they mentioned a 14whp gain in midrange and topend using the Hondata by adjusting the fuel from being to rich. They also changed the Vtec point.
So my question is, if this is the case, why did the computer over compensate to making the air/fuel ratio 'too rich'? Also, why couldn't an SAFC Neo be used to simply modify the air/fuel ratio readings to get the same result?
From what I can see in my 2015 LX CVT, the air/fuel ratio readings in the OBD2 ECU is steady at 12.0:1 during wide open throttle. If you continue to go wide open throttle at much higher speeds, the air/fuel ratio drops down to 10.0:1. The only 'mod' I did when seeing this was removing the splash guard in the hood at the 'ram-air' intake section. Direct injection is a whole different animal though that I need more learning on.
So..why not just an AFC Neo to adjust fuel to get the same result?

only a specific NEO can be used. search username DE36
factory tune is rich for reliability. If any sensors get jacked up, it can still run and drive without blowing up.
running rich cools EGTs, reduces chance of detonation, and cools combustion chamber
14.7AFR is ideal for complete burn, but that emits various emissions. Same for running lean. NOx emissions skyrocket with lean burn.
Back when Honda had the VX, it had 5 wire primary O2 to properly utilize lean burn. 49 state legal. California got a pinecone up their ass, saw the extra NOx emissions, and blocked leanburn models being sold. the cali VX was given more normal fuel/ignition tuning maps, but since it still had the roller valvetrain and long gear ratios and tiny intake manifold, still got great gasmileage
In the end, once we have tunability, we can dial in better AFRs, say screw off to emissions crap, and enjoy more performance and gasmileage.
Its not like emissions do anything. Hell the hole in the ozone is getting smaller. global warming based on greenhouse gas emissions is a myth. Our planet sees normal climate change, we are just in the midst of it.
Plants love carbon dioxide. That is how they produce oxygen anyways
