Shift boot

who's interested? There's a dude in Chicago who does this on a side...he hasn't done any of our cars yet... but if there's a demand it will be done!

this is the website- Bespoke Automotive Interiors: Toyota Solara 1999-2003

material- Bespoke Automotive Interiors: Fabric Options

type of stitch- Bespoke Automotive Interiors: Stitch Options

anyone in the Chicago area willing to loan him a boot to get a template?

I would be interested if I could get something cool, but I am in NC. I would consider buying one just to use and get some made, if there was a discount or some such.

First, a huge thanks to Mole for posting this for me!

Speedee, you can just send me the boot - no need to be here. To get the first one made, I do need a stock boot (so I can make a pattern and all the grommets and such for the boot). If you're willing to send me the stock boot, I'll take 40% off the price as you are also doing me a favor.

I'll have more photos of stitch options and such today.

Thanks again to Mole for helping me out.

Nice idea. This way you can custom whatever color leather, and/or stitching you want.

I'm getting this shift knob/boot combo from College Hills.

However I would definitely be in for a stitched leather parking brake cover to match the only one they have available is the brown one.

Subscribed for interest.

FitStir, I could definately do that. I would just need to know the dimensions of the e-brake handle.

Choro-Q_Fit, I could do that for you. I would just need some measurements.

If anyone wants to go ahead and get anything started, just let me know. Turnaround time for the first shift boot would be about 1 week.

shift boot wont be a problem, there is nothing to "lend" on the handbrake though, unless of course you plan to send him the entire lever

Alright, I have a picture of the e-brake cover I made up:

Larger photos of both are available on my website.

The handle and the base are two separate pieces. That way I could do the handle in one fabric and the base in another.

Here is the Shift boot:

I wanted to make it so that installation would not involve any glue or staples.

To do this, I had to make the bottom of the boot like this:

This allows the boot to Slide between the two plastic pieces like this:

This is what it looks like with the bottom plastic piece removed. The boot slips in to the lip on the upper piece and then both are clipped together.

Larger photos are available on my site.

Thumbs up

Looks nice!!!

Suede?

The only thing I wish is if the parking brake cover was overlapping the front part where the push button is but not covering the button just ending right before. All the brake covers I've seen (mugen, oem honda, t1r, etc.) are the same type design as pictures where it covers the sides.

I gotta email Bespoke and see if we can modify the one I want, and maybe another little custom option for the interior.

mole177, that color combo you got really compliments the interior nicely.. . Nice mod! +reps

Glad you like it!

FitStir,

I understand what you mean. I'm playing around with that at the moment and plan on having it cover the front (ending around the button).

I could do that...

Do you want the stitches to glow in the dark?

Could they be neon green in the day, and light up neon green at night? If they could that would be sick. So you would need my boots to do this, and how much would it cost? I'm getting ahead of myself. If I could see what it would look like, I'd be more inclined.
