What did you do to your GE fit today?
what did my GE Fit do to me...
It decided to hit me with a P2227 DTC.
Awesome.
I'm more convinced than ever, my ECU is fragged. Thought about replacing it myself until I realized I would need to program the immobilizer. Guess I'm going to a dealer tomorrow.
Even more awesome, ain't it?

It probably helps that some of us are more adaptable than others or in my case, I hadn't driven stick some 5 years before buying my MT Fit.
I have no problems shifting.
Driving in anger was the problem. Nasty slipping clutch and hard wheel spin once the clutch caught.
I understand some people on this site don't care about performance. But if you do, the mod is well worth it.
And I STILL don't think its worth it.

Driving my MR2 and the Fit back to back it was pretty obvious that the clutch delay valve, key word is delay, reduces the driver's ability to execute a smooth yet fast shift. Everyone who has driven my car has made a note of it. "What the hell is up with this vague clutch?"
You say you didn't drive a manual for 5 years before the Fit. Perhaps you need to drive another manual with a proper clutch back to back to see what I mean. If you don't notice a difference, more power to you.
Another instance that the clutch delay valve shows it's ugly head is a heal-toe downshift. It's either smooth and slow or rough and fast. Now that I took it off, I'm in heaven :-)

I HATE the CDV's impact on the clutch & my ability to shift. Prior to the GE, everyone who rode with me always mentioned how smooth my shifting was relative to others they had ridden with....with the GE, I shift like a 16 year old kid who just learned last week.
You said this:
It is likely that someone cares about performance if they're willing to drop THOUSANDS to up the power in their econobox.

Sorry for the derail fellas.
I was wanting to change mine out, went as far as ordering and receiving a GE one from ITEM9, only to find out the JDM and USDM are so different unable to use the USDM in the JDM Fit. I purchased a new JDM MC and sent it to ITEM9 and still waiting for him to attempt to clear the delay in that one. Honestly I haven't had any issues shifting my GE when out on circuit, even with a jacked up 2nd, but if I can eliminate another nanny aide, so be it.
Ohhh and to get it back on topic, my new tires for the Advan RZs showed up and I dropped them off at lunch to have the Rivals mounted. These are mostly for circuit use and only went with these so my friend in his Liberace (Roadster, Miata) can't say my tires are why I am beating him (said this in this thread already I believe, but whatever).

And nope, wheels and tires.
Or just the wheels to save on shipping

The issues you described earlier sound exactly like someone that is a little slow (or too late) on the clutch, right? Wouldn't a fix be to change the timing of the clutch action?
When do you lift your clutch leg? When you're securely IN gear and ready to press on the accelerator pedal? Cause I don't. While I'm shifting INTO gear, I'm already lifting off the clutch pedal.
Just for reference, the supercharger is officially set up for 7 psi of boost, but if the AEM f/ic6 logging is correct, I've managed 10 psi on at least one occasion.
And yet... I can shift smoothly and quickly at the limits of traction without "nasty wheel spin."

Isn't it all about footwork/timing? The way I see it, its more about your unwillingness to change your timing.
Different clutches may be better. I'd hope so, and if you've been adding horsepower to your econobox then the clutch is a great place for an upgrade. Short of that... Well, it's a poor workman who blames his tools.
