OBDII Readers

Will this reader work with the Fit ?

Equus 3030 Innova Diagnostic Code Reader for OBDII Vehicles.

If so, it looks like it would work for my other vehicles as well. Saw some good prices for it on Amazon.

Yes it should. Vehicles '96 and up utilize OBD2 interface which that reader uses.

I went a bit cheaper with this unit DealExtreme: $28.20 ELM327 USB Vehicle OBD-2 Scanner Tool (clone ELM327) and connect through my laptop. I would have gotten the bluetooth connector but my laptop is not capable of doing so. I have 5 programs (some free) that work with the reader and helped me diagnose my lean issue. I hope it can help me tune once they crack the ECU. Even if it can't, $28 already paid for it self.

I use this OBD2 CAN scanner since 6 months.

Am I missing something ? This doesn't look like much for over $100, How does it read the codes ?

I believe this OBD2 is a USB scanner you plug into a laptop and use it with a software. This one is different from the ones that Autozone or Pepboy uses.

Here's a review of 3 different scanners that explains how different models work:

The reason I am here is to see if others had a problem with their Innova 3030? I have a check engine light on and the model 3030 (the old one w/o USB) and I get the "read" and wait a half minute and get an error, no LED's come on.
The dealer did a CEL software update but the light came on a day later, still the 3030 reader does not work?
