Remove right side mirror...

Need to replace right side mirror on 2009 Fit Sport - I figured out how to physically detach it, but not sure where to disconnect the wiring... do I have to remove the door panel? Or is there a way to unplug the wiring inside the mirror?

Thanks!

I have a 2010 sport and although the cowling may be a bit different I imagine the way it mounts to the post is the same. My question is I can disconnect the cowling (just unscrew it after snapping off the mirror in front) but I'm not sure how to get the mirror off the post.

I made a small booboo and need to replace the cowling. I have the new mirror and cowling (that was the only thing damaged) but am stuck at getting the mirror off the post. How did you do it? Thanks.

Just dropping a quick thanks. After carefully reading the post I was able to get the mirror off, replace the cowling and re-mount it all within a couple hours and it's back to looking as good as new.

The only thing I did different was it was a serious pain trying to get the wiring out from behind the door so I snipped the cable a ways past the mount, put everything together except the mirror plate, then soldered in a short extension between the motor wires and the post, sealed it all and ran the small amount of additional slack in behind the motor and secured it after getting it back on the mount. It was a lot easier than ripping the whole door apart and trying to snake the wire out.
