Same authority as you, grasshopper. ANYTHING with Honda on the bottle is marked way up over that without the big H.

And your factual expertise is from where? Oh, I forgot, from yourself.

I just want to know what is he basing his comment on? Is he a trained Lubrication Engineer who knows something about different motor oils or what? I have been in refinery labs many times so I am curious about his qualifications.

Of course you would think that, little one. You actually believe that your holiest of holy's, Honda, is perfect in every way. By the way, I have some prime swampland in Florida for sale. I put a big H on the for sale sign. With that, it has to be worth more. Make an offer

I find it strange that he attacks the dude who has a username directly referencing another manufacturer and threads acknowledging his modifying of such vehicles.

I do not attack anyone unless attacked first, little one. Your obsession with worshipping of the H leads you and your small band of friends to respond in childish manners to any non-approved truth about the grand and wonderous...in your eyes...H. If your friend doesn't do Hondas, why is he trolling this site?

Such intellect. You reveal yourself to be the teenage loser that you are. Go away, kid, and come back when you grow up.

0W-20 Oil

l have been using Pensoil synthetic platinum 0W-20 Oil from Walmart. The cost has been reduced by coupons. If I recall the full price for 5-quart bottle is about $24.00. I measure out the exact amount in the owners manual. I beleive it is 3.8 quarts. I save the rest of the already reduced price on the promotional synthetic oil for an eventual free left over oil change at the past reduced cost.

Have a gander at that date at the top.

Also, exact amount isnt anything to go by. Your dipstick should be your final decision on whether the oil is topped off or not, just realize even a 1.5L motor can hold over a quart throughout the motor right after its been running. Gotta give it time to settle in the pan before you can get close to an accurate measurement on the stick

EDIT I wish walmart would stock SuperTech in 0w-20, dont care if its synth or dino synthetic isnt really required unless you are hitting high ambients (like texas) or low lows like up north.

Honda doesnt even use synthetic for our fits. its a blend, which kinda ruins the purpose of synthetic. Now part of the oil breaks down faster then the other part

my .02

Been running synthetic since 3k, now have 103400k on the odometer and while I originally switched brands to what was on sale (QS, Penszoil Ultra) I now only use M1 either 5w or 0w.

Recently sent an oil sample to Blackstone labs for analysis and in their response they say the sample is good with all metals in line or below average and recommended running the oil to 6k for the next sample.

Dont spend the extra dough on Honda oil.
