Tanabe DF210's and 17's?

I spent last saturday at the honda dealer looking at fits. my wife drives our 06 TSX and I'm wanting to add an '11 FIT sport to the garage to replace the 98 civic daily. Im looking at df210 springs and work emotion 17x7. I've done a lot of looking but can't seem to find a good answer. Will this setup work and if so what offset for the wheels and should I go 205/45 or 205/40

Yes it will work gorgeously. Stay with either tire 205/45 or 205/40. As for offset they say safe zone is +40-+45. A +35-38 will work as well, and be a little more aggresive. Roll all fenders you will have no problems at all (from your coral of cars I assume this is no problem).

People are running +15 fronts and +5 rears around here with camber, so your set will be great.

DO ITTTT

Thanks for the quick reply. I think coilovers would be better overall but the kansas winters destroyed my koni/gc setup on my 00 si and since this will be a daily I think springs and eventually t1r struts will work great. Luckily the tsx has a firm ride so hopefully my wife won't mind driving the fit every once in a while. Yeah I was looking at going 205/45 for a little better ride and 42 offset for the wheels. I also have a f20c powered 72 datsun 510 project I've been building with my uncle so I'm pretty deep into hondas

Im gonna hit you like I do sooooo many people on here. Pics or this does not exist.. That sounds like a sick project. I must see pics, even in progress rusted out pics will do..

Springs and 17s look real nice on fits. Gives it a nice stance and with your +42 will be perfect. Probably just cut rear bumper tabs off inside wheelwell and zip tie bumper up. You may not run into any problems at all.

That looks like a good project man. I am also on DF210 and getting 17x7 for the fit. I'm not sure about the 205 though. I might run 195/45/17. I used this site: Custom rims, wheel tire packages for your ride - RIMSnTIRES.com to help me out. The reason why I will run 195's is because the odometer will be slightly off with the 205's. I saved you some trouble and wrote everything here (keep in mind, I'm using +38 offset but I doubt that it will effect these numbers with your +43 offset):

205/45/17: When speedometer reads 60mph (96.6km/h) actual speed will be 60.6mph (97.6km/h): 1% faster.

205/40/17:When speedometer reads 60mph (96.6km/h) actual speed will be 58.6mph (94.3km/h): 2.3% slower.

195/40/17: When speedometer reads 60mph (96.6km/h) actual speed will be 57.8mph (93.1km/h): 3.7% slower.

195/45/17: When speedometer reads 60mph (96.6km/h) actual speed will be 59.8mph (96.3km/h): 0.3% slower.

I don't know if it will effect the mileage count so I went with the slower one and smaller one, but the 205 will look great though.

If you want to look it up for yourself, the stock GE8 specs are 185/55/16 16x6 with +53 offset

I just put bilstien coilovers on my base fit and I think it rides better than stock. Slightly firmer but the shock damping is so much better the car is less bouncy.

The rears don't go real low but you could take the adjustment collars out to lower it more. The front collars are only about half way down.

That 510 is wicked cool!!!

thanks for the help i appreciate everyone's input looks like when i do finally get into a fit the 17x7 will be a good fit for the car with df210's. Thinking about holding out till the 12's come out now since they have steering wheel mounted controls, black housed headlights and a dif wheel package thats a little more up to date.
