Need opinion on a 2009 Fit
Hey guys,
I may be purchasing this Honda Fit from a family member but wanted your opinion on the car.
The car has been in two accidents but car does still have a clear title. The passenger door had to be replaced and work on the quarter panel needed to be performed as well. The second accident was a parking lot incident and it looks like no damage was done except for residue on the door and quarter panel. Both were the other party's fault.
The interior of the car has damaged carpet and the passenger pocket is torn on the side.
I will posting up picture of the car shortly but based on what I have described, what would be a good price to pay for the car?
Mileage: 70,xxx
Color: Tafetta White
Transmission: Auto
Model: Sport

The most important variable is how many miles it has.
Next is whether it's the Sport or Base model and whether it's an auto or manual.
The car may be appraised using edmunds.com or kbb.com (do both and split the difference between private sale prices).
The car sounds pretty rough. I'd probably deduct a grand from appraisals based on the 1st accident. The other stuff can be easily fixed.

updated! Thank you!
KBB said 13,330 but I am not factoring in the accidents and other flaws that I mentioned in the first post. Good thing is that the tires were just changed which was about 700.00.
I was thinking of offering 10k but maybe even lower?

Edmunds "rough" condition for that many miles is $9449. -$1300 for miles, and -$3,600 for condition (including the accidents I'd say).
Edmunds "average" condition is $10,995 for that many miles.
These are the "private sale" prices.
$9500 is about right I think.
The relative of yours selling the car should see what they can get for a trade-in at least, to verify that level of pricing. Maybe visit Carmax; they'll give you a quote for a direct buy out.
Fit prices are weird lately with the tsunami in Japan. There is a shortage of used and new Fits, but this should be changing in the next month as 2012s hit the US.
Still, I think KBB is on drugs.
