TPMS & OBDII code?

TPMS & OBDII code?
Hi,
So, TPMS light is on. Took it to Advance Auto and they scanned it but no codes showed up.
If the TPMS light is on should it throw a code?
I am not familiar with scanning for OBDII codes.
Is it possible that the tech scanned it wrong? Perhaps, one has to select a specific module to scan for?
Thanks,
Scott

is it the TPMS light on or is it the TPMS indicator light? if its the indicator, refill your tires...could have a small leak. if its TPMS light then either a) your sensors went bad b) sensor cracked c) system needs to be reset
did you change your wheels? if you havent done anything at all, dealer should be able to fix this issue for free if still under warranty. i just had my system reset and 1 sensor replaced after i had swapped my stock wheels for aftermarket.

you would have to take it to the dealer and/or a TPMS certified place. In my area Goodyear and Firestone can check this. But Dealer will probably warranty the work. But this is not cheap at the dealer. call around and see.
Could just need to be reset. But if its a bad sensor then they will have to dismount tire and replace sensor then drive car with system connected to reset the sensors. i just did this yesterday. but i got them to do it for free

I did some research. Looks like I need at least the ATEQ VT30
ATEQ TPMS VT30
and I may also need the ATEQ Quickset
ATEQ TPMS QuickSet
But the VT30 is pricey... $250 - $300 and the Quickset isn't pocket change at $150.
Does anyone know of a more affordable way for the home mechanic to diagnose the TPMS Malfunction indicator themselves?
Thanks,
Scott

Or was it what is referred to as the low pressure indicator (symbol of tire with a nail in it)?

I usually run about 5 over recommended pressure for performance reasons.
I did lower all pressures to the recommended pressure, but that didn't change it.
Besides, I wouldn't think the TPMS malfunction light would come on for incorrect pressures.

I have checked pressures.

Unfortunately, the FSM also says that you cannot clear the error codes from the system by unplugging the battery; only the honda data interface can clear them.

TPMS syste and the OBD system are not linked together at all.
the TPMS light means there is a malfunction with the system. - brolen sensor, no sensors, etc.
the light that looks like a tire with an explaimation point in it means your pressure(s) are wrong. - due to overinfaltion or underinflation.
disconnecting the battery for a while will reset the TPMS light...about 30 minutes. but unless you fix the problem, it will come back within 20ish miles of driving.

so check your tire pressures are above 30 psig and then check ii if the ight doesn't go out. Sometimes it may take a few miles iof driving before the light goes out..

Mine went TPMS first, then the tire showed up and TPMS went away
