LEARNING SO MANY THINGS FOR ME NEXT FIT. lol The S2K rack bushings are a probable maybe, what's your result with them? I'm so happy I read this thread, I always hated that clutch delay valve. Also, thank you for letting me know I can fit a 225 in front with a little massage work, I'll definitely be doing that too.

Steering Rack Bushings and 225/40R16 Fitment

The S2K rack bushings are punishment on the rack, it takes a beating on a DD (bumps and pot holes).

The 225 isn't an easy fit. In order to fit and not rub I had to install:
1. Roll center adjusters
2. Camber adjusters (plates or bolts)
3. Coil-overs (it took a lot of time to find the correct height)
4. Larger Front Sway bar
5. Modify plastic wheel well lining.
6. Rolled fenders
7. Maybe more

The lightened flywheel is going to throw a CEL most likely. Not sure exactly what causes it, but this is the main reason flywheels aren't readily available for the GE. I was lining up to get a JUN flywheel and then they suddenly stopped production and when I inquired this was the reason. Wish I had more info, but you might want to source another stocker in case.

It might, we will find out. The flywheels that were available for the GE were 9 lbs (a 9lbs FW is an issue for most makes and models). The machine shop was instructed to lighten between 12-11 lbs. It's a conservative amount of weight being removed. The only way to confirm is to install it. I have done a bit of research on this before spending the time and money, I feel pretty confident on the topic. I will have the FW back this week.

This is an interesting thread.

I doubt I'll ever do anything similar, but I appreciate everything you've done. Well done OP.

That's great to hear and hopefully you don't see the DRL light up and you can enjoy motoring along that much more. On the flywheel in stock form, how much did it weigh?

The OEM GE8 fly wheel is ~14.8 lbs. The OEM FW is light and thin to begin with. The material the machine shop removes is the outer ring; in terms of inertia (I=mr^2) is the most critical mass. The fly wheel is so thin already they may not be able to safely get it down to ~11 lbs. I will post a complete install with data and pics.

Simota Catch Can

I had to upgrade the hoses, the hoses that came with the can collapsed when the engine was running.

http://oilcatchcan.com/

EDIT:

The can worked well. But after a couple weeks the can started to leak and the car was running lean. I contacted the whole-seller and the refused to do anything about it or refund my money.

So I contacted Simota directly and they told me the can was a fake... A bootleg of a cheap $60 catch can??? It's my fault, I got what I paid for; cheap junk.

it will take some time to notice, but when I /installed my oil catch, I saw a tiny bit more ignition timing. Every little bit helps!!

OEM GE8 Fly Wheel

Here are some before pics of the OEM flywheel. I have sent it to the machine shop to lighten. The OEM weight is 14.8lbs. The ring marked in RED is the material the machine shop removes. Part number 22100-RB0-005

looks like they can drop the weight down pretty close to 10 pounds if they wanted. that inner hub area (casted slope) can be step ground in 4-5 steps, to maintain strength while dropping over a pound.

Similar process was used on an old VX flywheel of mine. Believe factory it was in 11-13 pound neighborhood, dropped under 10 pounds after cutting. lasted over 100k miles, its in some kids car as of 2 years ago, and I believe its still running around

Disappointing Update:

I finally got back the flywheel yesterday after waiting 3 weeks just to find out the machine shops fly wheel lathe is down and they have no intention of fixing it in the near future... Yeah about that...

That sucks, maybe you can fine another shop that do the work.

As for the rest of the work you've done on your car it's pretty sick.

I haven't been on here in a long time and just started working on mine again. You have given me some great ideas, thanks for all you time and hard work.

3 weeks with no words? Either the shop is very busy, they set t down and forgot, or they got lazy for a bit.

Either way, there are plenty of places around that will do the flywheel.

flex your google-fu I guess lol

If it works out well, PM me shop details, Id like to have additional options wen I park my car in the spring and prep it for another season of fun. Lighter flywheel, finally install my lightweight crank pulley, have throttlebody bored out a bit, have intake manifold fabricated, and redo entire exhaust from head back. I dont expect this weaponR to last much longer

Rear Bumper Cut-Out

I cut out the lower bumper to further reduce drag but still keep cosmetics.

GE8 Spoon Front Sway Bar

Finally, after months on back order! It is in stalled. Only took me 2.5 hrs. I made a DIY:
