Question Front Place Mount?

Hi,
I just recently moved from Tampa, Florida to Seattle, Washington. Apparently in most of the country you need a license plate on both the front and back of the car and mine only came with the normal back plate. I called the local dealer and they said it was $50 for the front mount bracket kit (including the hardware). Does this sound right? I have no clue. He also said you aren't drilling into anything which I guess is a relief.

I did a quick google search and found a few listings for this and wanted to know if this is DIY possible and if it's easy and if you have a good resource for it. My Honda Fit is a 2013 sport model.

Don't waste money on the bracket. Simply drive down to Home Depot and buy some 3M double sided tape. I use it. The plate will never come off.

The first link will require you to drill into the bumper.

I believe the second link is similar to the honda oem license plate mount but I can't see the back to actually confirm it.

The oem license plate mounts under the lower bumper grill and has holes already threaded for the bolts.

Since you are from out of state and (assuming you have florida plates) just put your license plate in your front window and just play dumb if a cop pulls you over. I wish we didn't have to run front plate in california.

BASE, FR. LICENSE PLATE | Genuine Honda | 71145-TK6-A00

or

71145-TK6-A00 | Honda BASE, FR. LICENSE PLATE - Bernardi Parts

Neither page is listing exactly which bolts you need to mount it but you should only need two. I flipped my mount upside down from stock position and it still bolts on fine and adds a little protection for the AC Condenser.

Just use the double sided tape. Those mounts are ugly and balky anyway.
