Torque Pro EGR error, sensor data?

Been playing with Torque Pro in my '09 Fit, setting up different gauges to read real-time data. Not sure I understand one though. It's called EGR error %. I put a timeline gauge for it and a second timeline gauge for Commanded EGR next to it. At idle, EGR Error reads 100%, Commanded EGR is 0. As you accelerate, commanded EGR rises in a gradual, linear fashion. At the same time, error % drops correspondingly. Does the EGR ever need to be cleaned? I doubt there is a problem, just strange seeing this error % value and not knowing what it means. Car runs fine, no problems, no codes. Have been monitoring fuel MPG, MAF, cat temp, etc. All seem very responsive.
