2nd Generation Fit Trade In Value

They have some really deals on Camry leases right now so I took my car in to Carmax to see what they would give me. They offered me $6k so I decided to stick with the Fit. I thought this was kind of low since they had similar cars to mine selling for $12k on their website.

Just wanted to provide this data point to members of the forum. Here is more details about my car:

2009 Sport
49,000 miles
Blackberry Pearl
1 owner
No Navi
No accidents
Carmax in Merriam, Kansas

In my neck of the woods used cars are extremely expensive. I was offered an 14.5k trade in on my 2013 with 25k miles which is exactly how much I paid for the car in 2013... On Craigslist private party is still even between 12-14k for Fits with 60-90k on them. I'd see what people are seeking them for on Craigslist in your area and try and move it private party if possible.

Interesting info. We have similar specs on our respective Fits and you'd be generally be looking at $9500-$10000 minimum in my area (British Columbia, Canada). Got mine privately six months ago for $8500 but motivated seller and I talked them down as the rear left damper was leaking. Cheers

CarMax is a massive rip-off. Offered me 4k for my GD with 80k miles two years ago...sold it privately for 7k even with blown rear shocks (lowered + high mileage for OE dampers)

Just to follow up, I posted the details of my car over on the Edmunds real world trade in value thread and got this response.

2009 Fit Sport... these have a pretty good spread, BUT, frankly, given the color, I gotta say $6k is not bad. It would be $7k in a more common color.
