Electrical on a horn replacement

Hi,

I have a 2010 and I was just looking at my horn, and about to replace it with a generic Framm replacement when I realized that I don't really understand the electrical hook-up. I see one wire going into a small box attached to the horn, when I was expecting a one or two lead connection where I could simply unhook the old and plug in the new.

Can someone enlighten me on this hook-up?

Thanks,
Mike

I think what you're calling a "small box" is just the electrical connector for the power line to the horn. It's grounded through its mount.

So, to disconnect it do I just pull on it? It seemed rather firmly attached.

If it's grounded through the mount then it qualifies as a "single line" interface in the manual on the replacement horn. That should work fine.

There's probably a clip holding it together somewhere that you need to squeeze or gently pry apart (probably squeeze). It's hard for me to tell precisely as I don't really feel like disassembling the front decorative grill for no good reason. Even with the latch disengaged, sometimes some electrical connectors can be a bit of a hassle to get apart.

There is a clip you press down on to remove the plug. I swapped my horn for the Accord horn a few weeks ago...best $15 I've spent in a while.
