Line Out Converter for Powered Sub?
Happy 4th!
So, I've done a ton of searching and lurking and decided to finally post my question.
I'm hoping to install a powered subwoofer like this:
Rockford Fosgate Punch P300-12 Single 12" subwoofer enclosure with 300-watt amp at Crutchfield.com
My understanding is I'll need a Line Out Converter like this to convert the speaker signal to RCA for the powered sub:
https://www.amazon.com/PAC-SNI-35-Va.../dp/B001EAWS3W
What I *don't* understand is, if I'm connecting the front left and front right output of the radio to the Line Out Converter(which then connects to the powered amp via the rca linkage), how the heck do the front speakers still get a signal?
Am I somehow tapping into the same signal instead?
These powered subwoofers don't appear to have a way to bring the signal back to the speakers, nor does that seem very efficient.
Any help you could provide would be much appreciated.
thanks!

Use a splitter to split the signal between the powered sub, and the fronts to an amp.
If you are not using an amp for the other speakers, then you can use the signal directly from the headunit. The manual states this sub has hi and lo level inputs.

ActionJackson, thanks so much for the reply!
Bonus question:
Do I need to remove the head unit itself to patch in or is there a simpler way to do it?
This dude has a way of going through the glovebox to press on the back of the head unit and then pop the tabs:
(He has a RHD Euro Jazz but I believe it should be similar)
Does that seem right?
Thanks again!
