JDM RS Mugen Front end conversion

Most Of you guys know im doing this already, ill keep this thread updated with the progress of this project as it goes along. Hopefully It will be helpful for anyone else that may want to do this in the future (howard, im looking at you)

At this point in time, i am awaiting a ship date from the supplier in japan. The parts order has been confirmed, and is expected to take about 3 weeks to arrive in canada once it leaves japan.

Here is the parts list:

Youll notice theres no headlights or foglights on the list. I decided to save a bunch of money and order those used or from cheaper sources in the Philippines. In all, that decision saved me over 1000 bucks shipped so its very much worth it.

The headlights arrived a couple days ago, they need a lot of work before i will consider them complete, polish, clear bra, painting, and moving my ls460 retrofit over, eventually i want to connect the height adjusting rear mounted motors which are already installed on the headlights.

Haha, well just for reference this is supposed to be a complete list. Me and ben at AJ racing have gone over the list many times to make sure its complete. Mine will actually be the third GE fit converted by AJ racing so i trust them very much with this project.

We will only be 100% sure in december when the installation is in progress though.

We can only wait and see i guess. I just called him and he said about 2 weeks for the parts to be packaged and loaded, then 3 weeks on the boat to canada.

So were looking at early to mid october arrival, which gives me almost 2 months buffer time for delays etc.

Which mirror are you looking for?

RHDJapan.com Japanparts.com both sell the mugen blue mirror inserts and carbon fiber cover.

I would hate for you to miss out on a part because you can't get someone to fulfill your order.

i received my mirror long time ago. i bought it for christmas from AJR and he sent me GD ones. Of course it didnt fit. Turns out he went on a two weeks vacay after that and didn't leave anyone to take care of stuff. It took over a month before he sent me the right part.

Headlight polishing complete, they are now getting wrapped with protective film. Hopefully that will keep them pristine for a long time. Also fixed the broken mount.

Parts order is now paid for in full. Parts being gathered and packaged. Like i said, its expected to arrive by early to mid october!!!

Working on getting the foglights ordered, found a source in Ph but they are difficult to get a response out of.

Also, im debating if i should put orange side reflectors in the jdm headlights when i open them later this week to paint... Might mess up the look but at the same time i dont want to get pulled over for missing reflectors.

I dont know if its that simple, ive already got LED fogs but ive wanted those ones for a while. I believe i need the plastic housing that comes with the oem foglights, not to mention the proper brackets to fit correctly into the bumper.

Minor progress today, the headlights are wrapped and now look pretty much brand new, ready to be opened and painted black to RS style.

Also just purchased the pair of foglights which will arrive in less than a week.
