Broken Glass Lens On GE8 L Fog Light

What are people doing to replace the fog light glass light assemblies in their 2nd gen Fit sports? The driver side fog light on my 2013 sport has a cracked glass cover on it. I took the plastic covers off the fog light and have a light assembly made by Stanley #P9642L.

I've made a lot of inquiries about just buying the glass light assembly, but can't find a replacement. The dealer says a lot of the 2nd gen fog light stuff is discontinued, but he can get a replacement complete driver side fog light assembly that lists for $270.00 before my discount. There's got to be a less costly solution.....

What aftermarket sources have you checked? A brief check on Rock Auto looks like it's $58/ea for aftermarket fog lamp replacements.

Thanks for the great responses to this post. I guess I need to be clearer about what I'm looking for. The glass faced reflective housing I mentioned in my original post, made by Stanley, is what I'm looking for- or some other manufacturer that makes this same lamp housing. I'm not looking to upgrade to led's or aftermarket replacement housings that use H11 bulbs and may or may not attach to the oem plastic outer housings and alignment screws. It just seems to me that only replacing the reflective housings when their glass faces break, would lead to an affordable fix.

There's nothing wrong with my oem plastic outer housings or the bulbs- just the housing. These Fit fogs use E11 bulbs, so I'm just looking for the basic fix with a new glass faced reflective lamp housing for the fog light bulbs instead of the costly complete aftermarket replacement assemblies.

Keep those responses coming in!!

Yes, I understand what you are looking for - just the fog lamp itself and not the surrounding plastic attachment. They do sell just the fog lamp itself on rock auto which will install into the plastic housing - but it will crack again unless you beef up the protection.

No kidding - check out Rockauto.com. Exactly what you described for exactly what I quoted: $58/ea.

Not sure if you are still around, but I was wondering if these are the ones you went with? Honda (Oval): XB LED - Fog Lights from Morimoto HID
On their site it says they fit the "Base" models and not the sport..... If not the ones you used, could you direct me to the ones you used? I need to replace both mine as the glass is gone, so I think it is time to upgrade.

here let me show u a lil trick....

part numbers for left and right....
08V31S5D1M102, 08V31S5D1M101

now take that info to ebay or amazon or whatever...

of course these are not authentic Honda parts. and you cant use the housing.

for some stuff like foglights or heater resistors that are not critical...i buy generic all day. $30 for some clear ones. spend $5 more for some protective vinyl for them if u want to try to prolong their life. personally im totally fine with generic fog lights....either way theyll probably be cracked again in a year so. clearly the OEM ones crack just the same...as almost every GE ive seen in person has at least 1 of the 2 cracked. (both of mine are cracked and i only have 60,000 miles on a 2009)

now if your the guy that only buys Honda parts for his Honda...well youre gonna have to just bite the bullet.

your welcome.
