"SCS" still serves a purpose on newer cars, but obtaining powertrain fault codes is no longer one of them.

I'm pretty sure I'm looking at a vtech pressure code of 22 and a second code of random during of cylinder code number 72. I had an oil change When the car was inspected. The car had say for about 7 months and the mechanics had me drive it to reset the.computer before.running the final inspection. I've also read where this problem can occur with a non Honda oil filter. So my codes are 22 and 72.

As I expected almost none of the advanced autos have a Honda scanner as they were taken out of stores because of wrong info being reported

4 long 7 long 2 short or 4 dashes 7 dashes 2 dots
vtech pressure code of 22 and a second code of random during of cylinder code number 72.
No throttle codes ??? LOL

Not sure how you came up with those numbers, but I'll run with it.
Standardized OBD2 codes are more accurate to work with.

Depending on the actual P type fault code for the VTEC, there may be an updated pressure switch for the valve. Not saying that's gonna be a definite fix for your car, but a possibility if troubleshooting leads to that item.

You might clear fault memory then drive it to see which code resets first, chase that code first then see if the second code still sets after the first is fixed.

Honda scanner
I'm sure they mean a cheap generic code reader...
Parts stores would not have a dealership level scanner.

Yes the cheap code readers can misreport fault codes, that's always a possibility when using just about any system, but you can also check using other code reader brands to see how many will agree on a code.

No Autozone in your area? Other parts stores that offer the same service?
Buy your own reader for maybe...20 bucks?

Where I got the codes ? I sent the links rather posted them. I've found that those who know everything usually know little. And arrogance buys so very little. As I said most of the info comes from this site and from other locations. After speaking with the manager at advanced he indicated that Honda took the scanners out of the stores because of errors

Hey Ezone, my interpretation of the codes was indeed correct. The useage of the DIY method of code reading is indeed valid. My fit is now running. Sometimes those who are so arrogant can never learn a damn thing. It's a personality flaw. It's a shame as they could be a valuable asset, but they fail

So what did you do to repair the problems that caused your codes?

Cool thread!
The method is shown here:https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...ode-check.html
I personally would not go this route (I would vote for Bi-directional scanner with live data!)

also grounding check engine test terminal should cause abs, airbag and electrical steering to flash and blink the codes!
