There are scanners that can tell the internal battery status of each sensor, but that data is usually limited to "OK" or "LOW".

TPMS sensors piss me off. Over a 6 month period between late 2014 to early 2015, I had to change all four on a 2011 FIT Sport AT. As each one failed, at different times, I had tech go around the car with a Snap-On sensor (reads RF signals) with me and I marked the bad wheel. Yes, we did eventually change all four between 50K- 55K miles. What a system. $50 / sensor + labor / spin balance = $100+ / wheel

dlivry7: The multiple TMPS failures occurred just before (one wheel - August) but mostly after (the other three - March / April) I changed out my tires. Since it dribbled and drabbed over a 9-month period, I can't blame the tire installer (assume everything would break at once). I guess the failure of all four within a one year period is an example of good engineering.

Interesting too is the dealer's variable price plan. When I bought one outright and took to the tire shop, the dealer wanted $48 for the TMPS. When I brought it to the dealer to change out the others, each time they quoted $63 per TMPS. That wasn't going to happen and they backed off without a fight. Interesting that they are more than covering cost / overhead / profit at $48 but felt comfortable trying to stick me for more.

I seem to have gotten the same customer rep each time, so I bust his balls by asking, "When do I need to change the power steering fluid in the 2011 FIT?" He still doesn't get it. What a dick.

lol....service rep told me i needed a "timing belt" on my element. i let it go until she insisted i was going to "ruin my engine if i didn't change it"
not all of em are crooks and liars, but man is it frustrating at times.

I bought a used 2011 Tundra w/ 26K on it from the owner of our biz. I saw the truck almost every week for 3 yrs, so I knew it wasn't wrecked / abused. The PO was a pretty tame pre-70 yr old driver.

After purchase & some use, I took it to the dealer for 30K service (transferred the warranty). The lady serv rep told me that I needed the fluids in the transfer case and rear-end changed because they were "cloudy" ($350). Wow and this truck was never off-road, deep in mud, submerged in water, driven across the Mojave Desert, and only saw ~8,300 miles / yr.

When I asked "cloudy" from dirt or from moisture, she read down the list again, which included a state-mandated vehicle safety inspection. I asked her again what they meant by cloudy and how I could prevent it from happening again, she read down the list again. I didn't say anything, so she started down the list the forth time at which I told her, "Please be quiet", it was obvious she didn't know anything. I only opted for the inspection.

I've been to other Toyota dealers for service intervals and no one ever said those fluids were cloudy.

Anyway, what was your question?
