Spare wheel type?

So I have stock steel wheels and hub caps on my GE, also has a steel spare wheel.

Just wondering what kind of spare the GE has when the car comes with alloys? Is it the same alloy as the other wheels - so essentially you have 5 alloy wheels?

If only!- the spare is a mini "donut" style tire & wheel- T125/70d/15.

interesting..

My Australian (Thailand Made) 08/09 GE8, that has 15 inch steelies with 175 rubber, also has a 15 inch 175 wide steelie as a spare.

I am looking at possible getting some GF/GK 16x6 honda option enkei wheels, wondering if i should get 5th for the spare, and if it would even bolt in.

It depends somewhat on what conditions you're using the car in. If you're traveling cross-country through desolate areas (and I'm pretty sure the Australian outback qualifies!), a full size spare would not be a bad idea since it can be many, many miles before you could get a repair or replacement. There may even be some areas where having more than one spare is a good idea; I really don't know.

For ordinary driving in more or less civilized/settled areas, I would not bother. The space for the spare doesn't really fit a full-sized tire and wheel very well (it's not deep enough). So long as the diameter of the spare and the wheels you have are not too much different, you can use the donut temporarily as intended. If they're a little off in diameter it would be preferable to put the compact spare on a rear wheel rather than a front wheel so the differential isn't constantly under extra use (and because the handling will be better, which is true regardless of the diameter).
