Jdm goodies

Greetings, first post. I'm picking up my first Fit tomorrow, a 2010 sport in tidewater blue. I'm a huge JDM fanatic and figured this would be a good inexpensive base to throw dollars at and daily drive. I have done a little research and am finding I'll need Jdm hood, fenders, headlights, core support or modded usdm, and front crash bar to take advantage of the legit jdm body kits? Am I missing anything? I just so happen to have several friends in Japan that have access to huge salvage yards and an ocean freight shipping account so sourcing parts and getting them here is not a problem. My other family car is a Scion xB that is pretty heavily reworked with rare Toyota bB parts. Is it the cost that's preventing more people from doing the JDM bumper swaps? These things are a dime a dozen in Japan and used parts are ridiculously cheap. Looking forward to getting started on this one!

Welcome to the forum. I believe its a cost and not being a bolt on job that makes it less frequent/appealing. I love the non-USDM front end, but can't justify the $$$ for the custom work required let alone the cost of headlights/fenders/hood/coresupport/etc.

At least you have the mugen front as an option. As the owner of a 2013...I dont even have that as an option, only some Honda Access options which are costly as well.

So far between two of my friends I've found a Noblesse kit and several RS sets available in salvage yards. Probably cost under $1k to get the parts to my door that's parts and shipping.

Indeed it does. I have body shop/paint booth access so less of a big deal for me I guess.

Nice! Good skills and access to that is great. I miss being able to use the "shop" on base when I was a military dependent lol.

Anyhow, hope to see the conversion when you bite the bullet =)
