Funny, driving my car home from the dealer, the only thing I didnt like was the noise that I figured was from the rear plate! Put 2 pan head screw in from the unmounted front bracket.........

Then I read how on top of situations Joo guys are on this forum!!!

Mine came with 4, but two of them don't match. Being OCD I am probably going to have to buy 8 new matching screws for the front and back.

How do you remove the plastic retaining screws (not even sure that's what they're called) that are in the bottom 2 holes where the dealer didn't include screws? They look something like this.

Got four but they're mismatched. Two on top are hex; two on bottom are phillips.

Leave them in, otherwise you will have two holes. Those plastic things are for screwing the screws into, but they also may provide a bit of a buffer, keeping the license plate from banging against the car and scratching the paint.

COOL! Your license plate blue almost matches your car blue.

I also like that frame. Goes really well with the Honda logo above.

I can find a lot of frames online, but not much in stores. Where are people getting their frames? About how much is average in cost?

And for safety, does everyone get the plastic cover for the frame? I had my year sticker on the back of my old car stolen.

Or are people cutting through the sticker so that it can't be removed whole? That is what was suggested by neighbors and even the police. The police then can tell that the sticker was torn off someone else's car.

Edit: I checked, I have four on the front, matching, hex. Four on the back, top hex, bottom phillips.

Thanks! Yeah, the blues are really close. I got the license plate frame from a Checkers (like an Auto Zone if you don't have it where you are); I just went for the thinnest, simplest chrome-looking border I could find. I thought about a blue plastic cover, but figured it would probably be going over the top. Good idea to cut the stickers! I think I'll do that today.

I wouldn't go for a colored cover, the clear would prevent the theft of stickers. The guy at the local auto supply place said everything but the clear was not street legal (for California). I figure if they are going to want to steal the sticker, I will make it a bit harder for them. Because what thieves generally want is FAST and EASY.

January cars are the most likely to get hit. Simply because you get your following year sticker first, so it's good for all of this year. My last car had the January month, so like you, I would have just put on the 2010 sticker (if I still had the car). You only have to cut through the year sticker, not the month. Nobody steals the month stickers. And there's only one sticker there. After a few years, you get a stack of stickers, and they are real easy to peel off as a bunch, leaving the top current sticker intact.

I now have a December month, so I have a 2009 sticker for the rest of the year. And that probably won't get stolen when the 2010 stickers start hitting the street.

Although, the police also clue in on the month/year combo. You wouldn't see a 2010 sticker on a August month car. Or on any other month than January or maybe some February cars. It wouldn't have been TIME to renew yet.

Edit add-on:
I went out yesterday to get ones JUST LIKE YOURS, Blythe and then realized they wouldn't show up on my car too well, because it's WHITE. And my license plate is WHITE. And, mostly because they didn't have much that was matching. The non-patterned ones were the ones most likely to be sold out.

They had plenty of golf ones and chick ones and skull ones, like on this page:
http://www.autobarn.net/licenseframes.html

But only ONE of the thinnest chrome and ONE of the thinnest black at the Kragen in my area. Also, just ONE of the Classic Light in chrome and one in black. So I got mismatching plate frames. Hah!

I got the thinnest one (the slim one) in black, for the front, because there is that license plate mounting thingie on the front of the bumper. That means anyone who hits me in the front will come in contact with the license plate and the frame and the mounting thingie first before hitting my bumper. So if either will get banged and dinged, it will be the front one.

For the back I got this one:
http://www.autobarn.net/cru63000series.html

It's basically a pair of frames together. If I had realized that at the time, I could have combined my own at the store...for less than what I paid for the combination together! Grrrrrr. And, of course, they cost more at the local store than they do online. Although the combo comes with screw covers. And you want to bet that the screw covers aren't for the two different kinds of screws??? (I haven't put them on yet, I will do that later today)

The little bit of black will help to make the chrome to stand out, I hope, so it will look at nice as yours does.

I spent a long while looking for hex screws to put in the bottom two holes (the dealer put hex bolt-type-screws in the top two). The rattling is driving me nuts, especially when closing the hatch. Has anyone found specific hex screws/bolts that are silver and work in the bottom two holes with the plastic inserts (the inserts that are in the bottom two holes already)?

I found mine in the spare tire compartment. They were in the same screw bag as the ones used for the front license plate frame. Took my a while to figure out why I had two flat screws and two drill screws >_< LOL

But yeah, they should be with the hardware of the front license plate.
