Is the interior ambient lighting worth it?

Any pics/videos?

personally I think it is a waste of money. It's not bright enough to really light up the inside of your car (unlike the ones offered by mini cooper). What good is some faint blue light coming from your feet? If you're driving you wouldn't be looking down at your feet and same goes for your passenger. If you intend to mod your FIT as a show car then some brigher LEDs providing a better glow would be better.

Agree with all the previous posts. I put in the Honda LEDS, they are very dim, barely noticeable. Nice on/off switch, though...

I wouldn't recommend them, especially for the price.

Do they look any better if you dial down the brightness on the speedometer light? I ordered the ambient lighting system from my dealer and am having them installed next week along with the "sport grille"...

Even if they're a bit dim I don't think I'll change my mind since it still sounds nicer to me than a completely dark/black footwell.

The JDM GE8 foot lights are different than the USDM ones... I`ll post up pic`s to compare how they are different in a bit... ( a few days ... )

Here is a new thread with a much cheaper, and more effective, alternative to the USDM lights:

Yes you can do it much cheaper on your own. Just need to know how to solder (not hard) and not be afraid to take off some panels. I did this on my last Trans Am before it got totaled. I think I spent $20 total on solder, shrink wrap, leds, and wire.

I dont want to do it on my own. How much would it cost to have someone do this for me in Los Angeles?

At the dealer I work at, someone just ordered one and we installed it at no cost to them I believe. Check with your dealer, if not ask a friend that could do it or call a local shop. Phone isn't that hard to use

I believe that the USDM accessory Ambient Lighting kit is a simple plug&play with easy instructions showing you where to plug the kit in. Check College Hills Honda for pdf file instructions.

I just had the ambient lighting system installed today and I have to say I am VERY pleased with them! I know some people think they are not bright enough but I personally think they're just right. Yes, the lights are not real bright - but I think it looks more classy to have a "soft blue glow" in the footwells rather than a "glaring, bright blue light."

At least for me, it was definitely worth the cost and I think they're just right in terms of lighting level!
