Unhappy **HELP!!** 2009 Fit sport w/ navi--clunking/clicking brakes??

My 2009 Fit's(manual transmission) braking system is bothering me a little. I did a search on this forum, but didn't find the exact answer I was looking for, so here it is.

I have noticed at different times(not always at start up) a click/clunk when braking, even if the car has been driven around town for a few hours. It does not happen every time I press the brake pedal, but it does do it several times a day at random.

I called my local Honda dealer and spoke with the manager in repair service and he mentioned that he has been getting alot of complaints from others w/ the same problem--both automatic and manual transmissions and not to worry about this. Anyone else here having this dilemma? I even have had car passengers riding in my 09 Fit comment on this. Any info would be greatly appreciated. This is driving me nuts!!

Could it be that you're on some slippery surfaces and the ABS is activating?

^ I was thinking the same thing. We've been having frequent snowfalls up here so I've had many opportunities to, um, test the ABS lately and it sounds something like you describe.

Yeah right. We definitely are getting the chance to test out the ABS on ice and snow here too.

Yeah positive it is your ABS just doing it's job!
Complaints are more common on the Fit because it has such compact packaging and not a lot of sound insulation. That ABS unit right near the firewall is LOUDER than any other car I have driven.
Again, not to worry, ABS is a GOOD thing!

Did you check the FAQ section at Honda? It mentions the click click:
Frequently Asked Questions - the Official Honda Web Site

Usually when it's cold. I even had that in my last car, a VW.
