Those of you with crackly sound from driver's sealbelt

I think I pinpointed what's making that noise for a lot of us.

When you accelerate from stop do you hear a faint ticking or crackling from the seatbelt pulley area?

If you look at the B pillar clip itself, under where the belt rubs, you'l find a toothed metal thin plate. I think the teeth are grabbing or creating friction with the belt's nylon, ergo the crackly noise.

I'm about to apply a strip of glossy tape on top of the metal and see if that does the trick. Applying felt would be too thick and would still created a scraping noise. (I already tried my velcro felt on this)

I have the same crackle noise. It only happens when I drive on a certain road condition on freeway. I need to take a look like what you mentioned. Did the tape work for you?

I sort of tried some soft duct tape to test it, but since the tape was so floppy, it was difficult to squeeze it between the belt and the clip, so it was still making noise. I'm looking into some other tape that'll have an easier time fitting in.

des0late is an unknown quantity at this point
Sorry to bring up an old thread but I just noticed this happening on my GE recently. It's weird though... I don't recall hearing the "crackling" noise before until a couple of days ago. I guess I've been driving on some pretty rough roads and something got loose?

Were you ever able to fix it, CrystalFiveMT?
