Honda Fit/Jazz GE6 GE8 Electronic Service Manual Available
#247
I had a copy that was working but after replacing my oldest computer it no longer worked properly. I'm not sure if it was because of the newer version of Internet Explorer or what, but it just wouldn't cooperate. (At the time the newer computer was Windows XP with IE7 or 8.) Not sure if there are any antiquated system requirements for it, such as IE6-only.
Any tips for getting it to work on newer systems? (Or, even better, on a Mac, too?)

Open IE9. Using menu: File/Open, open the file: HONDAESM.HTML in the installation directory or drag and drop HONDAESM.HTML into IE9. Depending on your IE9's security setting, a warning message will pop up in the bottom of the browser stating something like: "Internet Explorer restricted this page from running scripts or ActiveX controls". Click on allowed Blocked Content.
If you DO NOT see the prompt, then IE9 has automatically disabled the display of html. To fix to show the prompt, go to menu Tools/Internet Options/Security and select "Default level" button.
Unfortunately, I did not spend time modifying Javascript to run on Chrome or Firefox. The only change I would make is to remove following lines from HONDAESM.HTML file: (around line 108), to prevent IE9 from resizing to a small window
window.resizeTo(w,h);
window.moveTo(t,l);
Update: If it still complains about IE version, remove the following around line 15 in the same file:
if (!CheckEnvironment()) {
close();
}

I'll put those tips to the test soon. Thanks for being so detailed! Hopefully I can revive it. My dream is to have it be just one searchable PDF. I had a service manual for my old PT Cruiser that was a simple PDF with bookmarks for a table of contents.

Unfortunately, no. I had to install Windows in VirtualBox to be able to open it. Fun, no?
