09 Fit Sport Mugen Quick Shift

Anyone running a Mugen quick shift on their 09 Fit yet?

College Hills says "available very soon", and they post instructions for what looks like an easy install...

...I like the idea of using a Mugen as it is basically OEM (OEM for the Mugen Fit anyway).

Interested to hear if anyone is using one, what they think of it and where they got it. Thanks.

College Hills now says "available" as of today...

...so if you install one please post. A DIY post with photos would be GREAT.

I installed the spoon short shifter kit on my GD3.
I can tell you that all shifter/shifter kits install pretty much the same and that GD 3 installs are pretty much identical to GE8 installs except for removal of the console.
So where I pretty much know that you are likely to not find much of anything on the Mugen/GE8 specifically, you will find everything you need if you search other shifter installs.

Hope that helps, if you dont get many replies on your very specific question, I've covered the reason above. I am going to order the spoon kit again (cant beat it, $48 shipped) and if I get to it soon I will post up or PM anything tricky about the GE8.
I am sure the Mugen is good, but they are all good cuz all it is, is a lever that pivots on a ball.

MY dealer is getting me the price, I should have it ordered next weekend. They are easy to install, but if the dealer does it, it is covered under warranty

Im still debating if the mugen short shifter is worth the extra 120 bucks over the T1R...

heck no, it is a dang metal rod with a ball pivot. Even if it is $120 more pretty ya cant see it as it is covered up by a boot and knob.

At least with Mugen visors you can say "Yeah they got this neat sculptured shape."

My humble $.02 is put your money where it adds value.
120 bucks gets you part way to an axle back exhaust
er halfway to a lightweight pulley set.

Not meaning to offend anybody, it's my engineering background and the fact that I deal with machinery and parts 6 days a week.

Yeah I thought so. Although the mugen comes with the whole assembly so its just plug and play. I assume theres nothing in the assembly itself that can make it perform better than any other shifter? Thanks for the help

And for that battery bracket too

The only thing a little harder with a kit or the TR1 stick is prying off the white nylon piece on the ball end at the bottom of the stick.

If you are looking to add value I wouldn't suggest investing in your car at all.

fittybux is an unknown quantity at this point
isn't the mugen short shifter literally just a shortened shift shaft with housing?

Now that might make it worth it. I think i read somewhere that it shortens the shaft 20mm. My friends EK short throw was 55mm, So I guess that does mean tey would have to adjust the pivot point.
