Mobil 1 VS Mobiil 1 EP Synthetic

Hey All.

I plan to do changes every 7500 miles with Honda OEM Filter. Do you think it's worth the extra buck per quart to get the Extended performance version of Mobil 1?

I thought the extended performance wasn't as good. As in, it is extended over dyno oil, but not a full syn.

bkrell is an unknown quantity at this point
M1 EP is a long drain oil. It's a tad stouter than regular M1 but the difference is not worth it over 7500 miles.

full synthetic oil is overkill on a fit, so running "better" full synthetic is overkill

Live in a climate where the temperature can drop below -20F in the winter, you wouldn't think it's overkill.

Thanks for all the passionate reviews. Been reading up, looks like Pennzoil Platinum is pretty good too. Might try that. Ideally I'd like to try to extend the interval to every 10K miles since the fit will get about 23K per year of use. I'm thinking I'll do PP for 7500 miles, twice, then send to lab to see if I can then push it to 10000 miles per change.

You guys think the OEM fulltech oil filter is ok for 7500 or 10000 miles interval changes?

Silver Cap is the Original Synthetic. I actually just bought the Pennzoil Platinum. Going to try that. Seems like that's getter better reviews on boboilguy forums. Now have to figure out what to do with the tough guard filter I got for free.

Actually just got back with a better deal. 5 Quarts Pennzoil Platinum and a Mobil 1 Extended Life Filter for $25. Bought 3 packs of em.
