It's at least good to know that we have that option, and that it actually looks like the car was meant to have the seats taken out on occasion.

Unfortunately for my job I gotta lug people around in it, or else I'd be outside doing it now. Haha

I did this to an old 73 Rabbit that I had less than $600 in, 24 years ago.The car paid for itself in a week delivering newspapers and Auto Traders. It was possible to remove all of the seats in minutes with out tools..... I think that I have only had people in the back seat of my Fit twice in 3 years so it would make sense to me to remove the back seat..... I would definitely want to add sound deadening material if or when I do this.

Good question...I've mounted amps underneath driver/passenger seats before but doesn't look to be much room in the Fit to do this.

You wouldn't want to do this in a Fit. That's where the fuel tank is. Not a good place to be poking around with a drill...

You might find there is room in the pocket where the spare wheel sits.

My Amp is mounted to my sub box. It works pretty well that way.

I took mine out a few months ago. Also, you can just throw in the smaller side of the rear seat in about 2 minutes if you need to have someone in the back. The only downside to having the seats out is I've noticed that my rear suspension sits up a smidge higher making the car look a tad odd since the T1R setup doesn't sit even to begin with.
The sun was right in front of me but I took a quick shot to show what I mean

wait can you remove just one seat? this would be nice to do if you need cargo on one side and a passenger on the other...just seeing my options.

Yes, the seats can come apart, the piece of cloth holding them together can easily be removed.

I pulled out my rear seats for autocross once. The difference was amazing. Back-to-back, I gained .5s on a 40s course. Now I do it every time I autocross. I'm thinking about pulling them out permanently, but I don't know where I'd put them if they're not in the car. :/

I agree, you don't really gain much of anything, and you loose the versatility of the rear seat design.
